If you’re looking for hotels in Niagara Falls, Ontario there are plenty to choose from. Country Inn and Suites is a great, very new family hotel situated just off of Clifton Hill (the fun stuff) and near many Niagara family attractions.

Location

The Country Inn and Suites in Niagara Falls Ontario is located at 5525 Victoria Avenue. In terms of the tourism areas you’ll be visiting, it’s about a 4 minute walk to the top of Clifton Hill (“museums”, shops, Skywheel, ice cream etc… etc…) and about the same distance from Casino Niagara (the “old” casino) and the new downtown indoor waterpark. It is a very, very good choice if you will be visiting the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, Casino Niagara or expect to be spending lots of time doing fun, foolish things on Clifton Hill.

Cost of Niagara Country Inn and Suites

The hotel is very affordable and certainly caters to families.  A one-bedroom, 2 Queen Suite with a closed door to the bedroom, a good sized sitting area with pull-out couch, dining table, microwave oven and fridge can be had for less than $100 in low season. In higher seasons the price is about 50% more, and on holiday weekends it is about double the high season rate. I stayed with my husband, mother and two small children in a Suite over March break for about $80 per night on a discounted CAA rate. There are also special rates for seniors.

Book Online

At risk of sounding even more like an infomercial for this hotel (What can I say? It is very clean, friendly, cheap, well-appointed and well-situated and it made my whole family happy…) the best deals seem to be from the hotel chain’s own website. I have cross-referenced the prices with places like Expedia and Travelocity and I found CountryInns.com prices to be the best every time.

Hotel Description and Services

The hotel has a nice-sized swimming pool and hot tub, a small exercise room and an extensive continental breakfast buffet which is included in the price. Fresh fruit, yogourt, cereal, waffles, toast, bagles and plenty of other breakfast-y treats were found and enjoyed by everyone in our clan.

There is free internet available in all rooms and a public terminal in the main lobby, where you can also find free, fresh coffee and cookies at any time of the day or evening.

The Rooms

This hotel is a new property, built in 2007. So, it’s fresh, clean and in very good repair unlike many family hotels you can find in the same price point at the Falls.  The double Queen suite is a very good size. My kids (5 and 2) like to move…. and while I can’t say we didn’t feel cozy (there were 3 adults and 2 kids in the room) we certainly had room to breathe, sit, dump all our stuff, sleep, watch TV, snack  and enjoy without wanting to strangle each  other. That is a feat!

The Vibe

It’s definitely a family hotel. If you’re  looking for the heart-shaped jacuzzi, you’ve come to the wrong place. You’ll be sharing the elevator with wet kids in swim suits and waiting in line behind them for your morning waffle.

The Final Word

A true value, the Niagara Falls Country Inn and Suites hotel is brand new and fresh as a daisy. It’s got great amenities, is very nicely situated and is very, very welcoming for families.

Note on Location

If you’ve never been to Niagara Falls, you’re in for  a treat. But many folks are surprised by how far the falls is from Clifton Hill – which is the location of many tourist attractions, restaurants, shops etc… From Clifton Hill, this hotel and many others, it  is about a 1.5 kilometer walk along the scenic parkway to get to the Rainbow (Canadian) Falls, so do put on sunscreen and walking shoes.

If you don’t want to stay so far away, choose a hotel near the new Fallsview Casino and take the funicular down the hill to the falls. You’ll be a bit far away from the razmatazz of Clifton Hill at those hotels, mind. Depends on what you’re looking for!
