Ponds Cold Cream stock went through the roof when Australian singer Kylie Minogue revealed that the old-skool cream is what keeps her lovely 42 year-old complexion looking youthful and dewy.

Keep in mind that Kylie has admitted to using Botox, too.

But she told the UK Daily Mail newspaper that her mum filled her in on the benefits of Ponds and it is now her only beauty treatment.

Ponds spokespeople say that product sales were up by 120 per cent since Minogue made the statement in late May 2010.

‘We’re calling it “the Kylie effect”, and it has been dramatic, to say the least,’ said a spokesman.

‘It’s been crazy. Stockists are increasing their orders and we’ve had to up our product orders pretty dramatically.’

On a related note, I have an Aunt who insists that Ponds Cold Cream removed a rather unsightly, large mole from her cheek. She simply applied the cream nightly to the icky mole and over the course of several months, the thing basically faded away. I have no proof besides my Aunt’s mole free face, but for significantly less than ten clams a jar, it may be worth a try if you have skin issues.
